In the first paper (1822), he listed 596 Ichneumon names and gave a short description for each. In the second paper (1824) he gave the status of each name, either that it was just a redescription of an already available name or that it was a new name, with a more detailed description and the type location of each new name. Thus 1824 paper should be considered as the completion of a nomenclatural act started in 1822, and therefore the year of publications of the new names from these two papers should be considered as 1824 (Horstmann, 1999).
