(Fitton and Gauld, 1976) ICZN article 40.2 - Family-group name replaced before 1961 due to senior synonymy and has won general acceptance, is to be maintained. (Fitton and Gauld, 1976). (Fitton and Gauld, 1976) The family name Anomaloidae Foerster 1869 was based on Anomalon sensu Gravenhorst which now belongs to the Gravenhorstia-family group. Since Anomalon sensu Gravenhorst does not exist, the Foerster family group name is not available.Viereck 1918 was the first author to apply the correct genus, Anomalon Panzer, to the family group name, therefore the authorship of this family name should be Viereck (Fitton and Gauld, 1976).
