none C. lafauryana Rag. was found in the summer of 1983 in 4 provinces of Emilia-Romagna (Bologna, Ferrara, Modena and Ravenna) on soybean (G. max (L.) Merrill). Its presence was never previously reported in Romagna. Some details of the ethology of C. lafauryana are reported, resulting from observations and surveys made from June-Nov. 1983. In addition to the world wide distribution, a list of the host-plants also is given. The larval populations, observed at the end of June, increased in July and reached maximum density at the end of July and in the 1st half of Aug. The most serious damages were caused on the buds, leaves, flowers and on the growing beans. The larvae during their last stages built from 2-6 tube-shaped rolls. They pupate in the last roll. The pupae were observed from the end of July. The adults emerge from the beginning of Aug. The flight reached a maximum during the last 2 wk of Aug. to the 1st wk of Sept. Two natural enemies of C. lafauryana were observed. A Hymenoptera (Braconidae); Macrocentrus linearis (Nees) was present in greater number. A Diptera (Tachinidae), Pseudoperichaeta nigrolineata Walk. was less frequent and never previously recorded on C. lafauryana, also was found. The rate of parasitization from the Braconidae reached 47, 45% in the 1st half of Aug.
