A description is given of the life cycle of P. sinensis, an important pest of China fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata), in Xinyang district, Henan. Two important parasitoids from the Eurytomidae and the Ichneumonidae produce an av. of 18.3% parasitism. Recommended methods of control include injecting [? into stems] a mixture of 80% DDN"P [dichlorvos] and 25 chlordimeform (1: I) diluted 20OX with water and using wood baits, in March or earl\.
