none Perilitus areolaris Gerdin and Hedqvist, 1984 is newly recorded and re-described from material reared from adults of Hylobius abietis (L.) (Col., Curculionidae) in South Bohemia, Czechoslovakia. The species adds to the known parasitoid spectrum on Hylobius and represents an example of different parasitoid strategies on the same host species, e.g. Bracon hylobii Ratz. (Braconinae) and others are larval parasitoids, whereas P. areolaris (Euphorinae) is a parasitoid of the adult weevils. Taxonomic characters distinguishing P. areolaris and P. rutilus (Nees) are reviewed. Earlier records on P. rutilus as a parasitoid of adult H. abietis weevils are believed to belong to P. areolaris , as the only parasitoid of the target.
