none Enter In 2006 and 2008 we investigated the presence of aphid parasitoid species in Slovenia. 2173 individuals were collected and identified. We determined 30 species of aphid parasitoids from 8 genera belonging to the subfamily Aphidiinae and family Braconidae: Aphidius, Binodoxys, Diaeretiella, Ephedrus, Lysiphlebus, Lipolexis, Monoctonus and Praon. The most abundant species were Diaeretiella rapae, Lysiphlebus fabarum and Aphidius matricariae. Aphid parasitoids are important biological control agents in plant production worldwide, since they reduce aphid populations on cultivated and wild-growing plants. In Slovenia, aphid parasitoids are not used in integrated plant production yet, because only a few species were recorded and identified, and the introduction or their rearing for the purpose of biological control was not allowed.
