Larval mortality in the yponomeutid Argyresthia coisjugella in apple fruits in the field in Himachal Pradesh, India, averaged 12.78% in July-September 1983 and 9. 44% in June-August 1984. A further 23% mortality due to predation by ants of the genus Myrmica took place when fully fed larvae left the trees and searched for pupation sites, and a further 40% in pupae in March-May, due to an ichneumonid parasitoid and a fungal pathogen. none
