The detailed morphology of the cuticular structures of the venom apparatus of Cosmophorus cembrae Ruschka is described and illustrated. This venom apparatus consists of a primary duct, the venom reservoir, two secondary ducts, and two glandular lobes. Its morphology is very different from that described for other genera of Euphorinae, such as Meteorus. The comparison with other braconid subfamilies reveals a similarity with some Aphidiinae, Histeromerinae and Rhyssalinae, which indicates a relationship with the basal groups of the Braconidae. none
