In 1994 van Achterberg published his fine monograph on generic revision of the subfamily Cenocoeliinae and recognized 2 tribes with 9 genera worldwide. Among the Chinese material of Braconidae, we found one genus of this subfamily, Rattana van Achterberg, and consequently described a new species R. sinica, sp. nov. This represents the first record of the genus in China and the subfamily in mainland of China. Rattana sinica, sp. nov. (Figs. 1 apprx 4) This new species is related to R. albopilosella (Cameron) and R. insidiator (Smith), but can be separated from the latters by the following characters: scapes reaching vertex; procoxal sulcus distinct and complete; vein cu-a of fore wing postfurcal, and propodeum and legs black. Holotype female , W. Tianmushan (30.4 degree N, 119.5 degree E), 1989- V-16, He Junhua, No. 890488, kept in Zhejiang Agricultural University.
