comment:
Effect of two host species (Galleria mellonella (L., 1758) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) and Ephestia kuehnielia (Zeller, 1879) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) and food types on longevity of parasitoid Bracon hebetor (Say) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) were investigated under the continuously illuminated laboratory conditions at 26[plus or minus]2 [degree]C temperature and 60[plus or minus]5 % relative humidity. Adult parasitoids were fed with one of the three different food types containing host larvae, honey solution (50%) and host larvae plus honey solution. It was reported that the food types have effected on the adult longevity. Females fed with all food types lived longer than males. The means of adult longevity of females reared on G. mellonella and fed only with host's larvae or 50% honey solutions or host larvae plus honey solution were 29.39, 49.78 and 33.56 days, in males they were 7.22, 25.56 and 26.56 days, respectively. However, the adult longevity for the females reared on E. kuehniella and fed with the same three food types were 27.44, 46.22 and 32.56 days, respectively. These values for males were found as 5.56, 25.94 and 25.17 days, respectively. none
