Fruits of Spondias lutea L. were collected in the municipality of Seropedica, in the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the objective of knowing the species of infesting-fruit flies, the infestation indexes, the species of parasitoids associated and the parasitism percentage. Three samples of one kilogram of fruits and one sample of individualized 150 fruits were kept for 15 to 25 days in transparent plastic containers filled with a layer of moistened sand as pupation substrate. After the emergency of flies and/or parasitoids, the species were identified, the specimens counted, and the infestation indexes, pupal viability and percent parasitism were determined. Three species of tephritids: Anastrepha obliqua (Macquart), Anastrepha fraterculus (Wiedemann) and Anastrepha sororcula Zucchi were obtained from the fruits. The mean infestation indexes were 701.3 [plus or minus] 346.6 puparia/kg of fruits and 9.6 [plus or minus] 0.4 puparia/fruit, and the pupal viability was 1! 7.2 [plus or minus] 7.3%. The larvae of fruit flies that infested the fruits of were parasitized by two species of (Doryctobracon areolatus Braconidae (Szepligeti) and Utetes anastrephae (Viereck)).The mean percent of parasitism was 58.2 [plus or minus] 4.8%.
