comment:
Analogues of juvenile hormone or juvenoids are considered as third generation pesticides for their growth disrupting ability in insect. The morphogenetic effects of two juvenoids, hydroprene and methoprene, on the ectoparasitoid Bracon hebetor Say (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) reared upon the juvenoid treated ultimate instar host larvae of Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), are evident from the production of moribund intermediate morphs. Maximum mortality rates (%) of embryonic, larval and pupal stages in treated series have been found to be 98, 54 and 30 against 18, 17 and 7 respectively in control. Out of the two juvenoids, methoprene has been found to be more harmful to the useful parasitoid. none
