none - not available Hymenoptera community dynamics of Shyampur forest range in Shivalik foot Hills, Hardwar, India was studied during the study period 2006-08. A total of 174 individuals of Hymenoptera were recorded, representing 17 species belonging to 8 families. Scoliidae was the most dominant family with 5 species constituting 29.41% of the total species of Hymenoptera followed by Vespidae with 4 species constituting 23.53%, Apidae and Sphegidae with 2 species each and Roalidae, Eumenidae, Tiphidae and Ichneumonidae with 1 species each. Apis dorsata Fabr (Family: Apidae) was the most dominant species in the study area, followed by Polistes herbraeus Fabr., P. maculipennis Saun (Family: Vespidae) and Ropalidia frerruginea Fabr. (Family: Ropalidae). Shannon - Wiener index of diversity across the year for the Hymenoptera was 3.421 and 3.456 during the study period 2006-07 and 2007-08, respectively. The maximum population density was 11.33 insects ha-1observed during rainy seasons. June 2013
